How to Get There
Playa del Moro is between Playa Romana and the start of the Sierra de Irta Natural Park, and that seclusion is exactly its appeal. You can walk there from Playa Romana or drive: since it's outside the town centre, parking here is free all year round — the paid parking zone only regulates streets in the centre, and only during Easter and from 15 June to 30 September. The Gateway to the Sierra de Irta
Playa del Moro marks the start of one of the last stretches of unspoilt Mediterranean coastline. From here southwards, the Sierra de Irta Natural Park links a chain of coves reached by seaside trails: Cala Blanca, Cala Mundina and the route that continues to the lighthouse. It's a great plan for hiking, snorkelling and mountain biking, and explains why this beach attracts anyone looking for something different from the urban beach experience.

When to Go
Being small and secluded, Playa del Moro is the beach that most rewards avoiding the peak hours of August: it's much more enjoyable early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Out of season it's one of the best options in the municipality, since it combines swimming in September — when the Mediterranean still holds the heat accumulated over summer — with hiking in the mountains once the heat has eased off. Where to Stay Nearby
There are no apartments right on this beach: the closest ones in the local catalogue are in the Playa Romana area — Casa Blanca and Playa Romana Park on the seafront, Peñagolosa about 200 m away and Nova Romana about 250 m from its beach — and Las Arenas, in the northern zone, near Cala del Moro.
