The seven, and which are on the beach
The town hall’s Accommodation Guide lists seven hotels, aparthotels and complexes in Alcossebre. Four of them state they are on the beachfront: Gran Hotel Las Fuentes, Aparthotel Alcossebre Sea Experience, Hotel Alcossebre and Hotel Servigroup Romana. The other three are close but not at the water’s edge: Alcocebre Suites, in the Playa del Moro area; Complejo Eurhostal, two minutes from Las Fuentes; and Hotel Sancho III, about five hundred metres away in Ribamar.
By area the map is simple: four in Las Fuentes — the liveliest zone, with the marina —, one on Playa Romana, one on Playa del Moro and one in Ribamar, already on the way to the Sierra de Irta. What separates them is less the star rating than the kind of holiday. Each area is explained from the inside in the areas guide.
One by one
Gran Hotel Las Fuentes (4★)
The highest-category hotel in the municipality, right on Las Fuentes beach. It presents itself as a family hotel and lists pools — one of them thermal —, a spa and gym, a restaurant, a kids’ club and entertainment. It also runs the Villas Dulcinea.

Aparthotel Alcossebre Sea Experience (4★)
Apartments with a kitchen backed by hotel services, right on the beach. It lists two pools — one on the roof, with a skybar —, a spa, gym, yoga and massage room, and covered parking. It answers the most common dilemma: wanting a kitchen and space without giving up a front desk.

Three stars right on the beach in the Las Fuentes area. It lists a pool with a children’s section, a restaurant with buffet service, a bar, wifi and entertainment. Its buffet is also open to non-guests, which is unusual here.

Hotel Servigroup Romana (3★)
The largest in the municipality: 81 rooms and 77 apartments, 158 units in all, on Playa Romana. It now operates under the Servigroup brand; for years it was known as Romana Beach, which is still how many people search for it.

Alcocebre Suites Hotel (3★)
It combines rooms and apartments in the Playa del Moro area. It lists a pool, a padel court, a gym, a restaurant, parking, wifi, a play area, accessibility features and it accepts pets. It is the only one that publishes its season: 1-11 April, long weekends in April and May, and 12 June to 12 September.

Hotel Sancho III (3★)
The most secluded, in the Ribamar area, on the way to the Sierra de Irta Natural Park and surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation. It lists a pool, free parking and wifi, and puts the beach about 500 metres away. The choice for walkers and cove-hunters rather than promenade strollers.

An apartment complex with shared services, two minutes from Las Fuentes beach. It lists adult and children’s pools, gardens, a playground, entertainment and the restaurant La Cúpula, with a buffet. Its category in the municipal guide is three keys, the rating used for tourist apartments, not hotel stars.

Hotel, aparthotel or complex: not the same thing
The seven are not the same thing, however much search engines mix them up:
- Hotel. Front desk, daily cleaning and services included. It works best for two or three nights and when you do not want to cook at all.
- Aparthotel. An apartment with a kitchen, but with a front desk and services behind it. In Alcossebre that is Sea Experience, on the beachfront.
- Apartment complex. The case of Eurhostal, rated three keys — the tourist-apartment rating, not stars — with shared facilities and its own restaurant.

Before you book
Not all of them open all year. Alcocebre Suites publishes its season — 1-11 April, long weekends in April and May, and 12 June to 12 September — and it is the only one that does: confirm with the rest, especially in winter. What does open out of season is in the Alcossebre out of season guide.
Travelling with a pet. Alcocebre Suites is the one that states it accepts them. Ask the others before booking.
