Urban bus: the circular line
Alcossebre has a circular urban bus line around the municipality; it debuted at Easter 2026 and runs during the busiest periods. It is the easiest way to move between areas (centre, beaches, residential zones) without a car.
Timetables and stops are published each season at alcossebre.org (Tourism) and alcaladexivert.es (Town Hall). Check on arrival, as they adjust through the year.
The link with Alcalà de Xivert (and the train)
The Alcalà–Alcossebre bus links the municipality’s two centres with 6 daily runs, timed to connect with the trains stopping at Alcalà de Xivert station (Valencia–Castellón–Vinaròs line). Arriving or leaving by train, this bus is your natural connection.
Taxi
Alcossebre has a local taxi service, useful for Alcalà de Xivert station (~8 km), Castellón Airport (~24 km, indicative fare €30–35) or night trips. In high season it is wise to book ahead, especially at peak times and for early transfers.
On foot: the seafront promenade
The jewel of local mobility is the seafront promenade: flat and continuous, it links Playa Romana, Cargador beach and the centre, and northwards leads to Las Fuentes and the marina. Almost everything essential (beaches, restaurants, supermarkets) is within a 20-minute walk of the centre.
By bike and MTB
The flat seafront makes the bicycle ideal for day-to-day trips, and the Sierra de Irta — a natural park at the town’s doorstep — is an MTB classic, with tracks to the lighthouse and the coves of the protected coast. For seasonal rentals and guided routes, ask at the tourist office (alcossebre.org).
By car around the municipality
To explore the surroundings (Alcalà de Xivert and its castle, the southern coves, Peñíscola) a car is still the most flexible option. Within town, remember the summer blue zone: hours and rates are in our parking guide.
