Apartamentos Palma Blanca is on Carrer Gregal, in the part of Las Fuentes closest to the Sierra de Irta Natural Park. Las Fuentes beach, the one with the freshwater springs that rise through the sand, is a short walk away. And inland the Sierra de Irta Natural Park begins: seaside paths, undeveloped coves and the lighthouse at the end of the walk.
In high season the area has everything — supermarkets, a medical centre, restaurants — and outside July and August it goes very quiet. Both faces are worth knowing before picking dates.
68 m² for six, and the air conditioning almost nobody here has
It is 68 m² with two bedrooms and one bathroom, for six people. Six people with a single bathroom takes organising, and that is exactly the sort of detail listings tend to leave out.
What it does have, and what counts in August, is air conditioning, along with a terrace, sea views and Wi-Fi. In this corner of Las Fuentes that is the exception, not the rule.
Pool, garden and access
The complex has a large garden area and a pool for adults and children, which is usually open from Easter to the end of October; worth confirming on arrival. Access is by stairs.
There is no parking space. In July and August you notice that, so if you are driving, check the list of those that have one first.
Palma Blanca or Hibiscus
Four hundred metres away, in the same corner, is Hibiscus, with an equivalent pool and garden and two square metres less. The deciding difference is this: Palma Blanca has air conditioning and Hibiscus does not. The other is capacity: Hibiscus has units for four and for six, Palma Blanca only for six.
Put another way: if six of you are travelling in August, Palma Blanca; if four of you are travelling, or you are coming in June or September, it is worth comparing the two.
Who it suits, and how to book
It suits a family of up to six who want to be in Las Fuentes, with the natural park next door and air conditioning for August nights, and who do not depend on having a parking space.
