🍽️ Mesón Ximo: set lunch and home cooking in the centre
Mesón Ximo is a traditional Spanish “mesón” serving Mediterranean home cooking on Calle Barquer, in the centre of Alcossebre (Alcocebre). It opens early for breakfast and filled rolls, its big draw at lunchtime is the menú del día (set menu), and in the evening it serves à la carte.
According to its own website (checked on 14 October 2026), the set menu costs €22 and includes a mixed salad, a starter, a main course and dessert; drinks and coffee are extra. There is a half menu (€16 with just the starter, €18 with just the main), some dishes carry a supplement (entrecôte +€6, salmon +€2) and there is a €15 children’s menu for ages 1 to 10, with a dish, a drink and dessert.
The evening menu has seafood starters, meat and fish, plus paella to order: the house paella (€15), seafood paella (€16) and Valencian paella (€13), or an individual portion (€8). The heartiest dish is the 500 g cachopo (€25), a breaded Asturian-style steak. Any house dish can be ordered for takeaway by phone; rotisserie chicken must be ordered before 11:00.
